Definition of terms Written in order to clarify the usage of the word in the context of the present research Variables must be defined operationally. Operational definitions require that researchers specify the actions or operations necessary to measure or identify the term. Emphasizes the role of the variables in the study.
Define the term operationally. “Is a humanistically oriented classroom effective?” Although the phrase humanistically oriented classroom may seem quite clear, many people may not be sure exactly what it means. What happens in such classrooms that is different from what happens in other classrooms? Do they lecture? In what sorts of activities do students participate?

Example The Use of Transformational Generative Grammar in Improving Students’ Linguistic Performance This study was developed in order to improve the linguistic performance of Filipino students in active to passive voice transformation and vice versa—one of the most difficult grammar processes to learn.
Example The findings in this activity are beneficial to the following : Students. This study provides a good scaffold in learning the active to passive voice transformation. Moreover, it is expected that the output of this study will be used to develop independent learning inside the classroom. The Use of Transformational Generative Grammar in Improving Students’ Linguistic Performance Proceed with the specific contributions or benefits to the various clientele.
Example Teacher . This study offers a research-based approach to the teaching of grammar. Scope and Delimitations r efers to how far the research area will explore and the parameters in which the study will be operating in. a re boundaries set on the research project according to the choice/s of the researcher. Example of a Scope and Delimitations The study covered 30 students from one Grade 10 class in Sitero Francisco Memorial National High School. These students underwent active and passive voice grammar lessons with Transformational Generative Grammar (TGG) as the central approach. In addition, grammar tests were limited to items aimed at determining the linguistic performance of the students in active and passive voice transformations. The Use of Transformational Generative Grammar in Improving Students’ Linguistic Performance
Example of a Scope and Delimitations Sitero Francisco Memorial National High School is a public high school in Valenzuela City. Aside from the first section where students with above average intelligence are placed, every class across levels is heterogeneous. The researcher chose one class in Grade 10 level as sample. Grades in English were not considered in the study. The Use of Transformational Generative Grammar in Improving Students’ Linguistic Performance
Example of a Scope and Delimitations This study covered 228 2nd Year College Students currently studying at the Philippine Normal University on the 2nd Semester of School Year 2012-2013. Written Work 2 Each group would be divided into two. The newly-formed groups will choose one SOP proposal to use for the activity. As a group, write the (1) definition of terms for the terminologies or variables involved in the study, (2) the significance of the study, and (3) the scope and delimitations. Write the output on a manila paper. After 20 minutes, each group will present their work. Each group has three minutes to present their work. Another two minutes will be used for critiquing.
Quiz 3 After the critiquing, rewrite the definition of terms, significance of the study, and scope and delimitations. Use the format in this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17tzHmTKUmSIcAo0XLgpgCqX5cEMrJh0ogl4zs9OC7No/edit?usp=sharing Submission of Quiz 3 would be next meeting.
