Foreground charging refers to the programs in charge of the
charging-related information on the main processor MP of the
switch；It realizes the ticket information collecting and
transferring. The foreground charging progress of each module
transmits the collected ticket information to the receiving
procedure at the background charging server in batches.
Background charging refers to the charging system operating
the background of switches (including server、client etc).
It undertakes most of the charging functions

At the foreground, each successful call will produce records.
In general the original bills contains the following fields that cover
the basic charging information required the caller number, the called
number, the call originating time, the call terminating time(or the call
duration) and so on.

After the foreground produce this original bills, it transfers the bills to the
background immediately.

Charging system will create the corresponding backup file to the
original bills after the original bills produced


Discount charging is a preferential measure. It is embodied in
the fact that the fees of some types of calls during some time
zones of some days are discounted.

ZXJ10 provides discounting for a maximum of 4 time zones in a
day and precise discounting for different time zones.

The basic concept of charging settlement is the
calling/called party group . That is , to classify the
subscribers and offices directions of different
charging attributes into different charging groups, and
then follows the definition on the algorithm between
each charging group.

rules, and then defining the algorithm between the areas and that
inside of the areas, which greatly simplifies the definition for
charging algorithm.
