ORIGIN - Mercedes was the name of daugther born in 1889 to the austrian businessman, Emil Jellinek. - DMG constructed a racing car that was commissioned by Emil Jellinek and named after his daugther, Mercedes 35 hp.
FORMATION OF THE BRAND In 1926, Benz & Cie. and DMG merged to form the Daimler-Benz AG company. Begins with Karl Benz, who built the Benz Patent-Motorwagen in 1886, widely regarded as the first true automobile powered by an internal combustion engine. In 1890, Benz & Cie was founded 1893 the first production car was produced.
