4. THE PURPOSE OF THE RECOUNT TEXT IS TO INFORM OR ENTERTAIN THE READER BY PRESENTING A CHRONOLOGICAL SEQUENCE OF EVENTS. p u r p o s e

5. c h a r a c t e r i s t i c s Using the past tense. Have a focus on specific events. Have a focus on individual participation. Contains information that has happened before. Explain events chronolo g icall y with conjunctions then , first , second , before , and others.

7. 01 Orientation: the opening section that provides background information, such as the place, time, and the perpetrator in the event being told (topic of an activity or events)

8. 01 Questions for orientation: Did you have a nice vacation last semester? Where did you go?

9. 02 Events: the main part that tells the sequence of events chronologically.

10. 02 Questions for events: When did you go for that vacation? How did you go there? Did you go there with your family? What places did you visit? How long did you stay there? Did you have a good time there?

11. 03 Reorientation Reorientation (optional): the closing part that summarizes or reflects the event being told. This section is not always present in all recount texts, but can be added to provide conclusions or lessons learned from the experience.

13. On my last vacation, my brother and I went to Pantai Panjang. It was really fun and we really had a good time. On Saturday, we first prepared everything we needed , such as clothes, snacks, drinks, etc . We also invited our cousins to join us. They were very excited and agreed to come with us. We departed from our house at 7 a.m. by car. The journey took about two hours. Along the way, we enjoyed the scenery and sang some songs together. It was a fun trip. Then, we arrived at the beach around 9 a.m. The beach was very beautiful and clean. The sand was white and soft. The water was clear and blue. The sky was bright and sunny. We felt so happy and relaxed. For Example : My Vacation with My Beloved People

14. We did many activities at the beach. We swam, played with the sand, took some pictures, and ate some seafood. We also rented a banana boat and rode it together. It was very thrilling and fun. We spent about four hours at the beach. Then we decided to go back home. We were tired but satisfied. We thanked our cousins for accompanying us and said goodbye to them. We drove back to our house and arrived there at 4 p.m. It was a wonderful vacation. I was glad that I could make my brother happy and spend some quality time with my beloved people. I hope we can go to the beach again someday.
