3. Subject – Verb Agreement: Rule 1. The verb agrees in number with its subject. Examples: 1.Kelly Mark plays basketball. 2. Motorcycles are expensive. 3. Brix and Mienix buy food in the restaurant. 4. Cleanliness is next to Godliness. 5. He has a good friend. 6. They have so many cars.

4. Rule 2 . The verb agrees only with its subject and not with the group of words in between the subject and the verb. Examples: 1. The bus, loaded with people, is stalled in the parking lot. 2. One of the Grade 7 Topaz students is Mr. Barlaan . 3. The Tanods in the barangay report the incident.
