Kalna College Affiliated to The University of Burdwan B.ED Section Course: EPC-3 “Assessment of the Learning Process” Topic : Internet resources for Different Disciplines – Mathmatics Submitted to Prof. Aniket Sutradhar Assistant Professor in Physics, Kalna college ,B.ED Section Submitted by Sukanta Nole Sub- English, Sem – IV, ( B.Ed ) University Roll no : 220711130085 Reg No : 025235 of 2013-2014

Web resources in mathematics – an introductory overview facilitating and recognition of web resources for teaching and learning mathematics at school level. Online tools and mathematics resources have made it easier for teachers to instruct students, and for students to collaborate with those teachers and with other students and parents. The web/online tools has the potential to be a significant resource in mathematics education. Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns, formulate new conjectures, and establish truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately chosen axioms and definitions. Today, mathematics is used throughout the world as an essential tool in many fields, including natural science, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences. Applied mathematics, the branch of mathematics concerned with application of mathematical knowledge to other fields, inspires and makes use of new mathematical discoveries and sometimes leads to the development of entirely new disciplines. Numerology is considered an application of mathematics by many but differs from mathematics in that is holds a mystical view of numbers.

Internet web resources/ tools for practising Mathematics the Internet has increasingly been used to provide significant resources for student to learn mathematics and to learn about mathematics . Some web tools which have utility in learning mathematics are : ERIC Clearinghouse for Science, Mathematics and Environmental Education http://www.ericse.org/mathindex.htm l Math Forum Internet Mathematics Library http :// mathforum.org / This site identifies itself as the "leading center for mathematics and mathematics education on the Internet“ MATHDI, Mathematics Didactics Database http://www.emis.de/MATH/DI.html MATHDI is the online version of International Reviews on Mathematical Education. This bibliographic database covers mathematics education and computer science at all education levels, including adult and teacher education, from 1976 to the present.

The Prime Mathematics Encyclopedia http://www.mathacademy.com/pr/prime/index.asp Mathematical Atlas A Gateway to Modern Mathematicshttp :// www.math.niu.edu / MacTutor http://www-groups.dcs.st-andrews.ac.uk/~history/ An excellent starting point for historical and biographical information in mathematics, this site contains numerous indexes for locating biographies and topical entries . Mathematics Contests, Competitions, and Problems Sets (Math Archives) http://archives.math.utk.edu/contests/

Some open access database for acquiring quick mathmatical skills https://Arxiv.org Some popular open access web resources are khan academy, wolfarm mathworld , Math archives, ABCmouse , Art of Problem Solving, Desmos , IXL, MathSciNet , Prodigy, Mathcentre , Buzzmath , Illustrative Mathematics https://mathworld.wolfram.com https://www.khanacademy.org Khan Academ y organized by Sal khan . https://mathscinet.ams.org maths ...American Mathematical SocietyMathSciNet (Math Reviews) Sponsored https://in.ixl.comin.ixl.com IXL Official Site https://artofproblemsolving.com Art of Problem SolvingArt of Problem Solving https://www.ams.org/mathscinet/

Computer programmes for e-library The following programs are available on the "full set of applications" computers in MSU Libraries and the microlabs on campus: Mathematica 6.0MATLAB2008a Minitab 15 R For Windows 2.8 R For Windows v2.4.1 SAS v9.1 SPSS 16.0 STATA10 StatMost Systat12.2

Conclusion: To conclude my presentation, we can thus concretely realized that internet resources are most potential tools for solving mathematical problems accurately and deftly. It also enhances the dimensions of pedagogical learning adaptability of digital generation students and facilitators for easily accessible methodologies used in numerical or applied mathematics. It has multiple purposes of mathematics research which make teaching-learning process fascinating and interactive. The learning outcomes of poor or meritorious learners can be improved and uplifted by imparting the hands-on practical lesson on how to use the different types internet resources while calculating, analyzing given datas and synthesizing the problems or theorem in geometry.
