Reading the Passage What is a CSO? A Computing Support Officer, also known as an IT Support Officer or Computer Support Specialist, is a professional who provides technical assistance and support to individuals or organizations with their computer systems, software, and related technology. Their primary responsibilities include technical support, installation and configuration, network support, security, user training, upgrade and maintenance, helpdesk support, problem solving. A Computing Support Officer in the current era plays a vital role in ensuring that computer systems and technology are effectively maintained and users are provided with the necessary technical support. Computing Support Officers in the current era need to adapt to the rapid changes in technology and stay updated with emerging trends and best practices. They should also possess strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. A Computing Support Officer in the current era faces several challenges due to the rapid evolution of technology and the increasing complexity of IT systems. With the rise of sophisticated cyber threats, such as ransomware, phishing attacks, and data breaches, Computing Support Officers must constantly stay updated on the latest security measures and vulnerabilities to protect their organization's data and systems. Moreover in working space, the shift to remote work has created challenges related to supporting a dispersed workforce. Verb in Its Function What are those? ACTION VERB Verbs that express an action, occurrence, or a state of being . Action verbs are used to convey actions, activities, or processes that someone or something is performing. They describe what the subject of the sentence is doing. Action verbs often represent actions that can be seen, felt, heard, or imagined. MENTAL VERB Verbs that describe mental processes , activities, or states related to thinking, understanding, perceiving , and communicating. These verbs are used to express various cognitive activities and are often central to conveying thoughts, ideas, and mental states . STATIVE (LINKING) VERB Verbs that connect the subject of a sentence to a subject complement, which can be either an adjective, noun, or pronoun. Linking verbs do not show action but rather describe a state of being or a condition. The stative verbs cannot be written in continuous form.

Pick and Analyze Pick the word and analyze it! Please find the errors in the use of Action, Mental, and Stative verbs, and analyze! John is thinking about the problem for hours. He is knowing that a solution is needed soon. This situation feels unbearable for him. He wants to do something, but he's feeling stuck. His mind is racing, and he needs to understand what to do. He's looking at the issue from different angles, but nothing is making sense. Action Verb: "He's looking at the issue" - "looking" should be replaced with "is looking," to show ongoing action. Mental Verb: "He is knowing that a solution" - "Knowing" should be replaced with "knows“ because it cannot be written in continuous form (progressive). Stative Verb: "This situation feels unbearable" - "Feels" is a stative verb . However, "He wants to do something" should be replaced with "He wants to take action“ because "Want" is an action verb, and properly used than "do something."

Mid-term Evaluation What and How Some terms in mid-term evaluation are: Students are given five different topics as follows: a. Software development on PC. b. Accessibility of Computer Program. c. Current Problems in User Interface. d. How to be a good IT Support. e. The Future of Computer Science. Every student should have only one topic to be presented. Students can use an outline in the form of .ppt to assist their report.
