TLE 6 – ENTREP AND ICT QUARTER 4 WEEK 6 DAY 1

Direction: Why is conducting an online survey important? REVIEW

Are you familiar with this?

PERFORMING ADVANCE CALCULATIONS USING ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEETS

SPREAD SHEETS Spread sheets are designed with functions and formulas that will make calculating numerical data easier and convenient for you. Using formulas and functions will help you increase the accuracy of your calculations while decreasing the amount of time you need to spend in Excel.

SPREAD SHEETS Using Spreadsheets Probably the most popular electronic spreadsheet program that we use today is Microsoft Excel. It uses columns and rows, like a table, where you enter data in each cell.

OPEN-SOURCE Open-source refers to the software whose source code is available for anybody to access and modify, while proprietary software refers to the software which is solely owned by the individual or publisher who developed it

SPREADSHEETS Spreadsheets can help you do basic mathematical operation such as addition, subtraction and multiplication, and divisions:

SPREADSHEETS a. Format the column titles with text b. Enter textual information in each cell aside from number; c. Delete, add, or merge columns or rows; d. Add or delete sheets; and e. Select printing options

SPREADSHEETS Step 1 : Copy the Raw Materials Inventory in a new spreadsheet file.

SPREADSHEETS Step 2 : Compute for the [Available] by deducting [Daily Usage] from the [ Start of the Week]. Step 3 : To make this inventory more useful to you as entreprenuer , it should inform you whether there is a need to buy more stocks. This information should be included under [Remarks]. To do this, you should determine the percentage of [Available] based on the [ Start of the Week]. Add a columns that will contain the information.

SPREADSHEETS Step 3:

SPREADSHEETS Step 4 : Compute for the [Percentage of Remaining Stock].

SPREADSHEETS Step 5 : Use the [IF Function] to generate automatic comment under [Remarks].

SPREADSHEETS Note : The IF function in Excel Spreadsheet returns one value if the condition is true and another value it is false. Look at the Function Argument Box Below. What logical condition is set?

SPREADSHEETS In our example, if the data in column K is more than or equal to 50, column L will give a result of [Adequate]. But if the data is less than 50, then the result will be [inadequate]. Step 6 : Do the IF Function for the rest of the data in column L

SPREADSHEETS Step 7 : Now, add another row as illustrated below.

SPREADSHEETS Step 8 : Use the COUNTIF function to automatically count the number of items with [inadequate] Remarks under column L.

SPREADSHEETS Step 9 : Analyze the entries in the Function Argument Box.

SPREADSHEETS Step 10 : Add another column with [Supplier] as heading.

SPREADSHEETS Step 11 : This time you need to set a condition that will automatically set the suppliers’ name. To do this, you need to create a separate table which will serve as reference for the condition.

SPREADSHEETS Step 12 : The VLOOKUP function will be used for this task. Take a look at the Function Argument Box.

SPREADSHEETS Step 12 : The VLOOKUP function will be used for this task. Take a look at the Function Argument Box.

SPREADSHEETS Step 13 : The VLOOKUP function will be used for this task. Take a look at the Function Argument Box. Step 14 : Save your work.

ACTIVITY 1 Directions : Write whether it is TRUE or FALSE . 1. To add a new row in a spreadsheet, click a cell in the row directly above where you want the new row.

ACTIVITY 1 2. A formula and function are the same thing. 3. Spreadsheet programs calculate expressions within parentheses last and follow the MDAS rule.

ACTIVITY 1 4. It is possible to insert an image from a file into an electronic spreadsheet. 5. An electronic spreadsheet can be used as the “data source” for a Word Mail Merge.

ASSESSMENT Directions : TRUE or FALSE . Write your answers in your notebook. ________1. MS Excel is one of the most commonly used computerized worksheet.

ASSESSMENT ________2. SUMPRODUCT is a function that returns the remainder after a number is divided by a divisor. ________3. Using the formulas and functions will help you increase the accuracy of your calculations while decreasing the amount of time you need to spend.

ASSESSMENT ________4. MS Excel is widely used in accounting and financial applications, statistics, engineering calculations, as well as in analyzing data. ________5. To create and enter functions without the equal (=) sign, excel will still calculate a result.

TLE 6 – ENTREP AND ICT QUARTER 4 WEEK 6 DAY 2

Directions: Encircle TRUE if the statement is correct, FALSE if not. 1. True or False : Electronic spreadsheet software can be helpful in managing and updating records such as the balance sheet and income statement. REVIEW

2. True or False: Microsoft Excel is probably the most popular electronic spreadsheet program used today. 3. True or False: Open-source software allows anyone to access and modify its source code, while proprietary software is solely owned by its developer or publisher. REVIEW

4. True or False: Spreadsheets can perform basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. REVIEW

5. True or False: You can format column titles with text, enter textual information in cells, delete, add, or merge columns or rows, add or delete sheets, and select printing options in spreadsheets. REVIEW

Within one minute, provide a part of the spreadsheet inside the box.

ACTIVITY 2 Directions : To ensure the success of your business, it is important to keep track of your customers’ order so you will not miss an opportunity to earn. Create a Purchase Order Inventory using an electronic spreadsheet hat contains the data below. Make sure to use Function Arguments to help you generate information.

ACTIVITY 2 Table 1: Purchase Order Inventory 1. A column for Customers’ Names (at least 5 names) 2. A column for products they ordered (3 products)

ACTIVITY 2 3. A column for prices (to save you time for encoding, aVLOOKUP Function) 4. A column for order quantity

ACTIVITY 2 5. A column for total amount per order 6. A column for [remarks] which will indicate if the order is [Retail] or [Bulk] use IF Function for this. Set the number of order for Retail or Bulk)

ASSESSMENT Directions : Answer the Table 2 using the information in the activity. Table 2: Summary of Order 1. A column for products 2. A column for total number of order per product 3. Two columns that will generate the count [Bulk] and[Retail] orders.

TLE 6 – ENTREP AND ICT QUARTER 4 WEEK 6 DAY 3

Directions : Answer the question. How does the process of using electronic spreadsheet software to manage inventory and make informed decisions about stock procurement reflect on the interconnectedness between technological tools and entrepreneurial decision-making? REVIEW

Compute the following using an electronic spreadsheet. Write the answers in your notebook. 1. 12345678 + 9876543 = _______________ 2. 65476736 ÷ 123873 = ________________ 3. 64638489 x 1528483 = _______________
