A Christmas Carol
It’s hard to imagine a
Christmas season without
the story of old Scrooge, Bah
Humbug! and “God bless us,
every one.”

Ebenezer Scrooge, a tight-fisted and
bitter man, is visited by three spirits to
bring about his redemption before his
death.
He learns to love his fellow man after
being shown the love and generosity that
symbolizes Christmas.

As his faithful clerk Bob Cratchit
toils, Scrooge is visited by his
nephew and invited to Christmas
dinner the next day.
Two men who come seeking
donations for the poor are
dismissed with Scrooge’s wish
that the poor would die and
“decrease the surplus
population.”

Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s partner has been dead,
7 years to the day that our story begins.
The first scene unfolds in the cold cheerless
office of Scrooge’s counting house.
-

Scrooge is visited by the ghost of Christmas past.
Then he was shown the day when his beloved,
younger sister Fan came to meet him after so
many years.
The spirit also showed Scrooge the day when, as a
young man, he compelled Belle, his fiancée, to end
their relationship because of his obsession with his
money caused him to alienate her.

The Ghost of Christmas Present was the second of the
three spirits
This ghost shows him the view of his clerk Bob’s house
condition where they are celebrating Christmas even
tough they don’t have enough to eat
Bob’s younger son Tim is crippled and ill and he
proposes a toast to Scrooge. Tim will die unless he
receives treatment.

The ghost of Christmas future is the ghost that
haunts the miser Ebenezer Scrooge
This ghost showed him a scene from the future
where a body is laying on the road and nobody
is ready to do the cremation
Scrooge recognizes the body as his own

Scrooge is shocked with what he has showed.
Scrooge decides to change himself for the
good
Scrooge is a changed man now
And he takes Tim as his own child
And takes his nephew into his business
