2. Introduction The Sindesar Kalan area, Rajsamand district, Rajasthan is the northern extension of Dariba-Bethumbi polymetallic domain is known for the occurrences of lead, zinc and silver. The presence of typical gossan zones and old workings attracted the attention of geologist as early as 1934. Systematic exploration commenced in this belt in 1963 and is continuing since then. The Dariba-Bethumbi-Surawas belt has been divided into 19 blocks and the 5 th block is Sindesar Kalan Block, lying in the north -central part of the belt and is bounded by Bethumni block in the north, Sindesar Kalan (East) block in the east and part of Sindersar kalan (West) block in the west and Rajpura block in the south

3. Location and Accessibility The Sindesar Kalan area extending over a strike length of 6kms. From Sindersar Kalan village in the north to Mokanpura village in the south, falls between latitude ( 25⁰ 3' 54"E to 24⁰ 58' 30"E) and longitude (74º 7' 35"N to 74º 11' 11"N) and ( toposheet no. 45 K/4 and 45 L/1). The block is situated in toposheet no. 45 K/4 of Survey of India and lies to the south-west of Sindesar Kalan village and is located in the Railmagra tehsil of Rajsamand district, Rajasthan. The entire Sindesar Kalan area has been divided into three blocks Blocks Strike length 1. Sindesar Kalan ( east ) block -- 2.5 Km. 2. Mokanpura North block -- 2.0 Km. 3. Mokanpura south block -- 1.5 km.
