CONTENTS INTRODUCTION HISTORY EVOLUTION TYPES TECHNIQUES STATISTICS WORLD RECORD ADVANTAGES CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION The Rubik's cube was invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik , a Hungarian architect, who wanted a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry. After designing the “ magic cube ” as he called it, he realised he could not actually solve the puzzle.
HISTORY 1944: Ernő Rubik is born in Budapest, Hungary. 1974: Rubik creates the first working prototype. 1975: Rubik patents the 'Magic Cube' 1977: The first 'Magic Cube' is sold in a Budapest toyshop. 1979: Tom Kremer negotiates and signs the distribution license. 1980: The 'Magic Cube' is renamed The 'Rubik's Cube'.
History (cont) 1990: Ernő Rubik becomes President of the Hungarian Engineering Academy 1995: Diamond Cutters Int. creates the 'Masterpiece Cube' 2007: Ernő Rubik awards the prizes at World Championships in Budapest. 2013: A new cube is born! All new faster action mechanism and durable tough tiles.
EVOLUTION The Magic Cube was renamed Rubik’s Cube in 1980. The puzzle is made up of twenty-six miniature cubes, known as “ cubies ” or “ cubelets ”.
TYPES Classic 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube. Mirror Cube (or Mirror Blocks) – the favorite 3x3x3 mod of a lot of cubers . Megaminx -a Rubik's with 12 faces. V-Cube 7 and V-Cube 6. Skewb . Square-1. 3x3x4 Cuboid .

STATISTICS More than 350 million cubes have been sold. Rubik patented his invention in 1977, calling it the Magic Cube. It didn't take off until he licensed it to Ideal Toy Co. in 1980. Less than 5.8 % people in the world can solve Rubik's cube. There are 6 billion people in the world, according to Wikipedia there are about 350 million Rubik's cube sold till jan 2009
WORLD RECORD For 3*3 cube: Feliks Zemdegs (Australia)POPS Open, Melbourne 2016 4.73 For 4*4 CUBE: fastest time: 21.24 sec, Feliks Zemdegs (Australia) at the China Championship on 2 October 2015 in Guangzhou
ADVANTAGES to solving the Rubik's cube that will indirectly help your brain become sharper. For one, it betters your eye-hand coordination. It improves your concentration in general and ensures that you are able to process your thoughts faster.
CONCLUSION My hypothesis was proven incorrect, for the Beginner's Method solve the Rubik's Cube in the least amount of time. During this experiment, I gave myself 2 days to memorize each algorithm, which I realized was not enough. I would also do more test runs before starting the trials. So, it improves our analytical skill and development skill.
