A creature lurks inside me. The creature eats at my brain like a parasite. Surgical
removal is impossible and there are no medications against it. Killing this creature is

North America during the Colonial period had the natural resources the Europeans
dreamed about. For example, the mighty Mississippi River for trading and
transportation, the pine trees for lumber, and the rich soil in the south for growing
crops. The Europeans saw the potential of economic opportunity in North America.
The Europeans spent months traveling from England to the New World and they
were quenching for the possibility of finding a land that would benefit England. The
Native Americans viewed North America as sacred and took care of their land as

In life, we are called to serve others, not judge them for what they have done or will
do in their life. This statement speaks volumes and does a wonderful job of
summarizing what I learned, not only about myself, but about myself as a future
occupational therapist (OT) while completing my Academic Service Learning (ASL)
Project at the Salvation Army in Findlay, OH under the supervision of Major Angie
Carter.
During my time at the Salvation Army, I learned that the Christian based agency is
focused on helping people who are struggling in life, typically people of low
socioeconomic status (SES). The Salvation Army in Findlay provides people, who
come to the main Salvation Army office, either with food boxes and/or vouchers
for prescription drugs at participating drug stores and clothes at the Salvation Army
Thrift Store or with guidance on where the item they are in search of, could
possibly be found in another Findlay community service based agency. One of the
main services that the Salvation Army took pride in was the adopting of families,
affected by poverty, for Christmas. Representatives from these poverty families all
over Hancock County would fill out a Christmas application form in late October, in
hopes that they would get adopted out by local businesses, schools, and donors that

s society. In our current day and age, a majority of teenagers use social media apps
every single day. Social media allows people to connect with friends and family,
allows you to see what is going on in the world, and gives you the ability to express
yourself to a large audience. As nice as that may sound, there are also negatives to
social media. For example, some people use the power of social media to do harm.
