N etworks have to provide services including: Internet, TV, VoD , VoIP, data storage, monitoring services, Emails, back-up, security, etc Have different connectivities for different devices such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, PLC, 2G, 3G, 4G, Li-Fi, etc

IEEE 1905.1 standard Benefits 9 Ease of use : setup procedure & access point auto configuration Aggregate throughput : parallel data transfer to increase throughput Load balancing : split traffic among several technologies to limit congestion & increase reliability Fall back : alternate route is selected if specific technology stops
Parallel data streams 10 Various stream can be transmitted over different technologies to limit congestion A single stream can be split and transmitted among many technologies to achieve higher throughput To achieve higher reliability, a stream and its copies can be transmitted over several technologies
