2. Acetate - Malonate Pathway Includes synthesis of fatty acids & aromatic compounds. Acetate pathway operates with the involvement of acyl carrier protein (ACP) to yield fatty acyl thioesters of ACP * ACP = A group of small acidic proteins functioning as important co-factors in the de novo synthesis of fatty acids.
