Speaking skill is one of the fundamental skill. It helps to express their ideas, thoughts and feelings.

Story telling can be made through picture charts . at lower classes the students can be asked to narrate the story by sequence of pictures . A s the students reproduce sentence from memory the skill of structureing the sentences develops .

6. Debate Important co - curricular activity which will improve the speaking skill of a l e a r ner . One topic is a main issue Some choose to speak in i t s f avour and some present is v i e w s against i t . T h e teacher take the students to situation where the students ma y debate over the issue . T his type of activity will make the students to participate in impress school and inter school competitions . The listening abilities and comprehension can be improved . The students learn how to organise their ideas in a systematic way .

7. I n t e r view The teacher and the students assume different r o l e s . students are instructed and given adequate information . The interview should be conducted in an informal manner . The teacher should ask question in such a way that the students to express most enthusiastically . The teacher should not ask such questions that can lead to one word answers or more gestures . The student should be made to speak in a detail manner . Interview gives the students a well modulated to accuracy and speed of speech . T h e student speech becomes neither to loud no to meet and neither to first not too slow .

9. Extempore speech In classrooms extempore speech competitions can be conducted of t e n . Student should be made to participate eagerly in school competition this will be a good part . A s t h e competitors such competition generally speak in mother tongue the English speakers should be motivated and encourage d . This will bring great scope for them to develop they speaking competency . the competitions are meant to measure the competitors depth of knowledge rather than his resourcefulness and e l o q u e nce .
