I. TITLE: YOUTH SPORTSFEST: A PLATFORM FOR ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUGS ADVOCACY
II.TIME FRAME: JULY 5-6, 2025
III.VENUE: CONG. CHING BERNOS CIVIC CENTER, DAGUIOMAN, ABRA
IV.RATIONALE:
Illegal drug use remains a significant threat to the well-being of young people, exposing
them to physical, mental, and social harm. With peer pressure and lack of productive
engagement among the contributing factors, it is crucial to provide alternative, positive
avenues for youth to spend their energy and develop resilience.
Sports, as a universal language, foster teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition-
attributes that counteract the lifestyle of drug abuse. Combining sports with an IEC
campaign is an effective way to raise awareness, encourage behavioral change, and
build a strong community-based approach in the fight against illegal drugs.
V. OBJECTIVES:
1. To increase awareness and knowledge among youth participants on the harmful
effects of illegal drugs through targeted IEC sessions during the sportsfest.
2. To promote drug-free lifestyle choices by engaging the youth in physical and
recreational activities that foster camaraderie, discipline, and self-worth.
3. To encourage active youth participation in anti-illegal drug campaigns and empower
them to become peer influencers and community advocates.
VI.BUDGET REQUIREMENTS:
The undersigned is requesting the Local Government of Daguioman to provide the
following materials needed:

2. 1.At least 100 youth participants from various barangays are reached and engaged
through the Sportsfest and IEC activities.
2.Improved knowledge and awareness on anti-illegal drug measures as evidenced by
pre-and-post
3.Formation of a youth support group or alliance committed to continuing advocacy
and awareness campaigns at the barangay level.
