CHILD PROTECTION CONCERNS The welfare of the children and its personnel is the highest priority and it is the responsibility of everyone in Marcelo I. Cabrera Vocational High School to ensure that they are safeguarded. The additional guidelines on security measures, care and use of facilities, and reiteration of school rules and regulations sets out the school’s commitment to Child Protection. SECURITY MEASURES IN SCHOOL   The security guard/s or designated watch personnel for the day (Teacher, Parent, SSLG Officers) on duty shall conduct visual inspection of bags and other items carried by employees, guests, or visitors. The plate number of vehicles entering the vicinity of the school, names of the drivers, passengers, purpose of visit/business shall be recorded in the logbook at the guard house. SECURITY MEASURES IN SCHOOL  3. The visitors shall be accommodated in the designated visitor’s waiting area and fill up the visitor’s pass form before they will be allowed to transact business inside the office/school premises. 4. SEARCHES   Marcelo I. Cabrera Vocational High School reserves the right to conduct searches of any of its facilities: classrooms, comfort rooms, learners' personal belongings such as bags, desks and lockers. A bodily search of any learner, school personnel and/or visitors, and search of vehicles upon entry and exit of school premises may also be done by the School.

SEARCHES 2.  A search and/or inspection is conducted: when it is deemed necessary for the common good when there is reasonable ground to believe that a learner may have an object or property in his person, desk, bag or locker, the possession of which constitutes a violation of existing rules and regulations of the school to prevent the commission of an offense to determine the possibility of the commission of an offense such as when the learner concerned is found to be in custody of an object/thing, the mere possession of which is considered as an offense, or aid in the solution of a disciplinary case.

SEARCHES 3.   Normally, a search is done in the presence of the learner who owns the desk or bag, which is the subject of the search and/or inspection. However, in urgent cases where the learner concerned cannot be located despite diligent efforts, the search and/or inspection may be done in the presence of at least two witnesses. In urgent and serious cases, the school agents are authorized to use reasonable force in order to gain access to the desk or bag concerned. In all cases, the school shall not be liable for whatever damage the desk or bag or enclosure sustains due to the use of force in opening it .

CARE AND USE OF FACILITIES It is the shared responsibility of learners and the school community of taking care of all the facilities of the school thus, very learner is expected to respect and take care the property of the school by observing the rules and regulations regarding their use.

Guidelines on the Use of Classrooms 1. All learners are responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of their homeroom and all other classrooms. 2. The desk and chair assigned to a student must be kept free of any distinguishing marks. 3. The property of others should be respected and should not be touched or taken without permission. 4. Disruptive behavior and unnecessary noise are not allowed in the classroom. 5. The chalkboard/whiteboard must be kept clean at all times. These must be ready for the use of the next teacher.

Corridors and Stairways 1. As a safety measure, corridors and stairways should always be open for passage. 2. Running and playing along the corridors, the stairways, and the ramp are not allowed. 3. During class hours, learners should walk quietly along the middle of the corridor so as not to disturb classes. 4. When going up or down the stairs, students must walk on the right side of the stairway. 5. Students are expected to take care of corridor fixtures (fire extinguishers, rolling cabinets, etc.) including displays, posters, and other announcements. Causing damage to any of these fixtures will warrant an appropriate sanction and replacement/repair fees

School-owned Devices, Equipment, Learning Kits 1. The school-owned devices, equipment, and learning kits are for research and educational use only. Surfing/browsing/accessing unauthorized and/or restricted sites/folders will warrant disciplinary sanction. 2. School-owned devices, equipment, and learning kits should be handled with care. The learner is responsible for the devices, equipment, and learning kits – repair/replacement costs for any malfunction or damage (both hardware and software for digital device) due to mishandling or loss. The learner will pay the amount of the school-owned device when it was originally purchased.

School-owned Devices, Equipment, Learning Kits 3. Any physical damage or device malfunction should be reported immediately to the subject teacher on standby. 4. Learners are not allowed to make account changes, or install, or delete apps on the school-owned device. 5. Eating or drinking while using any school-owned device is not allowed. 6. Learners should check the school-owned device before returning it. Any physical damage or device malfunction should be reported right away to the teacher. 7. Learners should observe safety measures at all times.

Canteen Learners are expected to adhere to the following rules at the canteen:   1. Fall in line when buying food. 2. Observe courtesy in speech and actions. 3. Observe proper eating habits. 4. Practice CLAYGo (Clean Leftovers As You Go). Scrape and dispose of all leftover food in the designated containers. 5. Dispose of trash in the designated trash bins. 6. Maintain cleanliness at all times. 7. No running and playing of sports equipment at the canteen area.

Comfort Rooms The comfort rooms are provided to serve the personal health necessities of the learners. When using the comfort rooms, the learners are expected to maintain cleanliness, to observe good hygiene practices, and to conserve soap, tissue paper and water. Playing in the comfort rooms is not allowed.

Administration Offices and Guidance Office The various offices provide different services to the school community. Parents and visitors who wish to transact business in any of these offices should secure an appropriate pass from the guard upon entry at Gate.

SCHOOL UNIFORM The school uniform states a learner's affiliation with the school. As agreed by the PTCA and SSLG Officers, the learner is expected to wear the prescribed school uniform properly during regular school days and for official school activities.

SCHOOL UNIFORM REGULAR UNIFORM (for SY 2024-2025) The regular school uniform consists of the following: White/Cream polo Maroon pants Plain white undershirt (tucked with the sleeve length not exceeding that of the polo shirt) White socks Low cut black shoes School ID

PE UNIFORM AND ADVOCACY SHIRT The prescribed Physical Education (P.E.) uniform and/or Advocacy Shirt may be worn every Wednesday or during P.E. classes, intramurals and other special events. For Female Learners, Advocacy shirt should still be paired with their skirts. Only SSLG Officers are allowed to wear their advocacy shirts during Monday (Female officers’ shirt should be paired with their skirts).

STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARD Upon entry and while inside the campus, student ID is required to be worn by all currently enrolled learners. The ID card is to be worn slung over the neck and is required when borrowing books from the Library and for other on-campus identification purposes.

STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARD In the event that the ID card is either lost, destroyed, or damaged, a replacement card may be obtained from the Administration Office upon the approval of the Principal and the payment of the ID Replacement Fee. Whether the ID is left at home or needs to be replaced, the learner must obtain a Temporary Student ID slip from the Principal's Office to be able to attend classes.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE Learners are expected to come to school with a general appearance of cleanliness and neatness. This is shown by the following: Hair must be properly groomed and must not touch the eye brows, the ears and the collar of the polo shirt (male). Certain fad haircuts may be deemed unacceptable. Hair must be neat, well-maintained, decent, and presentable.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE Fingernails must be regularly cut or trimmed. Colored nail polish is not allowed. The uniform must be kept clean and neat at all times. All learners must carry a clean handkerchief. They are also required to bring an extra plain white shirt for them to change into should it be necessary.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE All learners are motivated to have a Grooming Kit that contains the following: hand sanitizer, extra face mask, extra plain white or P.E. shirt, extra pair of shorts, socks, underwear, face towel, roll of tissue paper and plastic bag for wet/soiled clothes. Students are not allowed to wear excessive jewelry, make-up and other accessories.

GROOMING AND HYGIENE No wearing of caps inside the classrooms and jackets except for cold weather conditions. Tattoos and other body markings are strongly discouraged. Tattoos are not to be displayed and therefore need to be covered at all times.

ACCEPTABLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY GUIDELINES Learners may use their digital device on academic purposes only such as • Reporting • Project Making / Performance Tasks • Research • Class Activities Learners must use their digital device at the appropriate time and place, and in the appropriate manner.

ACCEPTABLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY GUIDELINES If a student is caught using any of these gadgets during classes and other school activities without permission from the proper authorities, gadgets shall be dealt with accordingly. Students are expected to use the gadgets responsibly. The learner is responsible for the safety of his gadget; thus, he must never leave it unattended.

ACCEPTABLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY GUIDELINES The school has NO responsibility for any of these gadgets that is lost or stolen while under the custody of the students. Charging in school is not allowed and may be considered as an offense

ACCEPTABLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY GUIDELINES If a device is found unattended, this should be turned over as soon as possible to the Adviser, Principal’s Office, or Guidance Office. Learners may not share their devices with others. Taking another person’s devices without permission from the owner is considered a major offense and will merit a disciplinary sanction.

ACCEPTABLE USE OF TECHNOLOGY GUIDELINES Learners are responsible for the content of their devices. All material deemed prohibited in school by their nature (e.g. illegal, obscene, related to gambling and drugs, pornographic) is strictly prohibited as the content of any device. Marcelo I. Cabrera Vocational High School has the right to inspect the device in cases of suspected wrongdoing (cyberbullying, possession of pornography, etc )

ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY Learners must be present at least 80% of the total number of days in a school year to fulfill the requirements of the Department of Education (DepEd). Absence in excess of 20% may automatically cause a student to be dropped from the official student list. MICVHS Learners should develop the habit of punctuality. Every learner is expected to be on time for his classes, assemblies, and all other school activities.
