2. What is it?
•The sum of any number and zero is the
original number.
•The number zero is called the additive
identity because the sum of zero and
any number is that number.

3. Examples
•A + 0 = a
•0 + a = a
•9 + 0 = 9
•0 + 9 = 9
•-7 + 0 = -7
•0 + -7 = -7

Change the following subtractions to a addition
problem
3 - 15
Answer is:
-15 + 3

5. How I got the answer?
•The problem is 3 - 15.
•Since there is a minus in front of the 15
it’ll make it a negative so the problem
would look like this (3)+(-15)

6. How it relates to Additive
Identity Property
•Since Additive Identity Property is when
you have add a number to 0 and the
number you put in is also the answer.
•So you can put 15 - 3 + 0 is also the
same as 15 - 3.
