What is Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR)? ADR refers to a range of dispute settlement methods. It help the parties in the dispute to come to a settlement without going to court , or without litigating the said matter. Out of Court Settlement

Basic Difference Between Mediation, Negotiation, Conciliation, Arbitration Mediation is an alternative method of resolving disputes without resorting to the courts. It is a structured, voluntary, and interactive negotiation process where neutral third-party use specialized communication & negotiation techniques to help the parties in fulfilling their stated objectives. Negotiation is a process whereby the parties and their legal advisors seek to resolve the dispute by reaching an agreement either through written correspondence or a meeting between all concerned.

Conciliation is a method of resolving disputes wherein an independent person helps the parties to arrive at the negotiated settlement . Arbitration is a process in which an independent third party analyses the bargaining situation, listens to both parties and collects necessary data, and gives an arbitral award that is binding on the parties concerned. Governed by Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 .
