4. Pharmacology action :- Beclometasone controls the rate of protein synthesis, depresses the migration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, fibroblasts, reverses capillary permeability and lysosomal stabilisation at the cellular level to prevent or control inflammation. Dose :- Adult:  Initially, 600-800 mcg daily. Maintenance: 400 mcg daily in 2-4 divided doses. Child:  50 or 100 mcg bid- qid or 100 or 200 mcg bid. Function :- Beta-2 agonist ; Antiasthmatic Contraindication :- Hypersensitivity

6. Pharmacology action :- Ipratropium bromide has anticholinergic ( parasympatholytic ) properties. In preclinical studies, it appears to inhibit vagally mediated reflexes by antagonising the action of acetylcholine, the transmitter agent released from the vagus nerve. The bronchodilation following inhalation of ipratropium bromide is primarily local and site specific to the lung and not systemic in nature. Dose :- Initially, 3 ml every 6 hr. Max: 3 ml every 4 hr. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Function :- Contraindication :- Tachyarrhythmia

8. Pharmacology action :- Salmeterol , a long acting -agonist which acts locally in the lung to mediate bronchodilation . Fluticasone , a corticosteroid with mainly glucocorticoid activity, reduce symptoms and exacerbations of asthma. Dose :- Salmeterol 50 mcg and fluticasone propionate 100/250/500 mcg/dose of inhalation powder: Function :- Asthma; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) Contraindication :- Hypersensitivity

Pharmacology action :- Dose :- Each inhalation contains 100 microgram salbutamol in HFA ( hydrofluoroalkane ) propellant Function Bronchodilator. Relieve bronchospasm in bronchial asthama , chronic bronchitis, emphysema and other airway resistance diseases. Contraindication :- Hypersensitivity

16. Pharmacology action :- Fluticasone utilises a fluorocarbothioate ester linkage at the C17 position. It has potent vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory activity, but weak HPA inhibitory effect when applied topically. Dose :- Adult : As powder or aerosol: 100-250 mcg , up to 500-1000 mcg Child : As powder or aerosol: >4 yr: Initially, 50-100 mcg bid. May increase to 200 mcg, Function :- Asthma prophylaxis Contraindication :- Nosebleeds may occur
