1. Nelson Mandela South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

2. Maya Angelou Was born in Missouri and raised in Arkansas. She became one of the most renowned and influential voices of our time. She was a celebrated poet, memoirist, educator, dramatist, producer, actress, historian, filmmaker, and civil rights activist. Bringing the gifts my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

3. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a Baptist minister and social activist, who led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968.

4. Oprah Winfrey Considered as the richest African American of the 20 th century. Best known for hosting her own internationally popular talk show from 1986 to 2011. She is also an actress, philanthropist, publisher and producer. She was also a rape victim

5. Confucius He was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher. Famous line:  " What you do not wish for yourself, do not do to others." ( Lunyu  12.2, 6.30).

6. Mahatma Gandhi He was an advocate for the rights of Indians, both at home and in South Africa. He became a leader of India’s independence movement, organizing boycotts against British institutions in peaceful forms of civil disobedience. He was killed by a fanatic in 1948.
