Young boys and girls have to develop in themselves the qualities of leadership. They must learn to function in a group with a team spirit. It is also to be noted here that problems of adjustment at the secondary stage are serious. So efforts should be made to make them realize that everyone has to face problems.

Personal guidance at the secondary level should enable pupils to pursue the path of maturity and good citizenship. They should be encouraged to look after their health and develop self-reliance. Adolescent boys and girls develop interest in opposite sex and this interest has to be properly guided. Opportunities for community services should be provided to young boys and girls so that they may be able to develop a sense of social responsibility and community service. Adolescent is the period of high order of emotionality. At this period children are more self-conscious. They need recognition and approval.
