INTRODUCTION Air pollution can have a terrible impact on the environment and human health Because of the release of lethal gases by vehicular emissions, factories, and elevated amounts of inhalable particulate matter in the atmosphere. It leads to Harmful effects on ecosystems, human health, and climate changes. Therefore, monitoring of pollutant levels in the air is required. In this paper, an nodeMCU wifi module is used as a microcobtroller board-based air quality monitoring system has been developed for measuring the various atmospheric parameters viz. carbon-monoxide, temperature, humidity, and methane using the respective sensors.

Objective The main objective of this project is to design a iot based air quality monitoring system with the help of the WiFi module to examine the quality of the air of a particular place or site. A Wi-Fi module is also integrated in the system to transfer the data to another location or to access the data from remote location. Also, to show data on the system LCD is connected to the NodeMCU . This system frequently measures pollution levels and a report is sent to the Wi-Fi module through the thinkspeak cloud.

Existing system In the existing system , to monitor the parameters of the air around us such as CO2, CO, presence of smoke, alcohol, LPG, temperature and humidity with the help of GSM, Bluetooth and WSN.

Proposed system An IOT based air pollution monitoring system is proposed that uses an MQ135 gas sensor and it is interfaced to node MCU; the system is connected to the thing Speak cloud to analyze the sensor data.

Literature review

Advantages It detects many different air pollutants. It can detect compounds that cannot be detected by sight, taste or smell. Allows you to take action based on data and knowledge. Helps create the most healthy and comfortable surrondings .

Disadvantages An air quality monitor does not clean the air, it detects the quality of the air. It does not show the source of the pollutants.
