ACTIVE LEARNING PARALLEL CLASSES MIRRORING SCHEDULE

OBJECTIVES: Define Active Learning in a Parallel Classes Identify the feature of Active Learning Define Parallel Classes Example of Parallel Classes Appreciate the benefits of using Parallel Classes approach in class Define Mirroring Schedule Example of Mirroring Schedule

is a teaching approach that is based on the principle of learning by doing .

Students perform individual tasks aimed to help them to be self-sufficient problem solvers Writing of concept notes enhances memory retention (visual + psychomotor) Student Comprehensive Portfolio Writing slows down concept input and allows time for the brain to absorb new material. Allows for quality time with family/friends and wholesome leisure.

AL Features: One teacher is in charge of 2-4 simultaneous classes, conducting discussion on difficult concepts in one class while each of the other classes perform tasks as supervised by facilitators.

PARALLEL CLASSES

WHAT IS PARALLEL CLASS? The parallel class scheduling(PC) approach is a flexible method of scheduling that addresses student groups (4 classes one at a time.)

HOW AFFETS THE STUDENTS? * ensured that all students in a parallel class received direct teacher instruction and while the other groups are performing task at the same time

HOW PARALLEL WORKS allowing students in a 4 groups/ 4 sections to receive the individualized instruction necessary.

It represents the role of a teacher in One (1) classroom, while the rest of the groups (3 classroom) provided and given activity to accomplish its either a preparatory activity or the outcome. EXAMPLE OF PARALLEL CLASS

MIRRORING SCHEDULE

Araullo University implements a scheduling mechanism that is used to drive a recurring asynchronous mirroring process. Each asynchronous mirror has a specified schedule, and the schedule's interval indicates how often a Sync classes are created for that mirror.

HOW MIRROR SCHEDULE WORKS? The schedule concept. A  schedule  specifies an interval for automatic creation of sync classes; A mirror class or schedule is usually done during remote learning (independent learning) During remote learning, all classes will be done in morning schedule. For example, class with 1pm f2f schedule, during their remote learning it will be in 8 in the morning. This scheduling is done for the students to have time to other important task during their remote set up.
