2. About S3 Amazon S3 has a simple web services interface that you can use to store and retrieve any amount of data , at any time , from anywhere on the web. It gives any developer access to the same highly scalable , reliable , fast , inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. Amazon S3 data is replicated across three or more AZs in a single region. Each AZ is separated by a minimum of one km and a maximum of 100 km so that any localized natural disaster does not affect the durability of your data. Amazon S3 ensures fault tolerance, resiliency, and the low latency you need for your fastest, performance sensitive workloads. This is designed for 99.999999999% 11 9s (eleven nines) of durability and protects data for all the storage classes against site-level failures, errors, and threats.
