There’sawidevarietyoftoothpastesandrelated
productsavailable todayinthemarketfororal
hygiene.However,foracommonman, differentiation
onthebasisofqualityisreallydifficultwithallthe
fancyadvertisementsandoffers.
Atoothpastecontainsamildlyabrasivesubstancesuch
ascalcium carbonateandadetergentorsoap,some
sweeteningagentotherthan sugarandflavouringoils
tomakeitpleasanttotasteandsmell.Some toothpastes
containsfluorideswhichmaketheenamelsurfaceof
the toothmoreresistanttobacterialactivityandact
againstmicro-organismsasametabolicpoison.
Generallyanystandardtoothpaste containcalcium
carbonate,sodiummonofluorophosphate,sodium
laurylsulphate,zincsulphate,alum,someflavouring
oilsarealso added.
Thisprojectbasicallydealswiththedetectionof
variousionsin toothpastethatdetermineitsquality,
andthus,acomparison between theprominent
toothpastebrands.
