ANALYTICAL METHOD Presented By: Dr. TRIPTI SHARMA.
INTRODUCTION Research is the Search for Knowledge It is an Art of Scientific Investigation According to Redman and Mory, Research is a “Systematized effort to gain new knowledge” Research is an original addition to the available knowledge, which contributes to it’s further advancement In sum, Research is the search for knowledge, using objective and systematic methods to find solution to a problem
OBJECTIVE To gain familiarity with new insights into a phenomenon To accurately portray the characteristics of a particular individual, group, or a situation To analyze the frequency with which something occurs To examine the Hypothesis of a casual relationship between two variables
RESEARCH METHODS Vs RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research Methods are the methods that the researcher adopts for conducting the research Studies Research Methodology is the way in which research problems are solved systematically. It is the Science of studying how research is conducted Scientifically
QUANTITATIVE APPROCH Vs QUALITATIVE APPROACH Quantitative Approach(Uses experimental, inferential and simulation approaches to research) Qualitative Approach(Uses techniques like in-depth interview, focus group interviews)
ANALYTICAL RESEARCH THE RESEARCHER HAS TO USE FACTS OR INFORMATION ALREADY AVAILABLE, & ANALYZE THEM TO MAKE A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THE MATERIAL. IT INVOLVES THE IN-DEPTH STUDY & EVALUATION OF AVAILABLE INFORMATION IN AN ATTEMPT TO EXPLAIN COMPLEX PHENOMENON. IT CONCERNED WITH TESTING HYPOTHESIS & SPECIFYING & INTERPRETING RELATIOSHIPS, BY ANALYZING THE FACTS OR INFORMATION ALREADY AVAILABLE.
ANALYTICAL METHOD The Analytical Method is a generic process combining the power of the Scientific Method with the use of formal process to solve any type of problem. It has nine steps
STEPS 1. Identify the problem to solve. 2. Choose an appropriate process. (THE KEY STEP) 3. Use the process to hypothesize analysis or solution elements. 4. Design an experiment(s) to test the hypothesis. 5. Perform the experiment(s). 6. Accept, reject, or modify the hypothesis. 7. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, and 6 until the hypothesis is accepted. 8. Implement the solution. 9. Continuously improve the process as opportunities arise .
IMPORTANCE Use of the Analytical Method is critical to solving the sustainability problem because it appears that current processes are inadequate. They are intuitive, simple, and based on how activists approach everyday problems .
ANALYTICAL RESEARCH PAPER An analytic paper demands that you perform many tasks: formulate a thesis, gather sources, evaluate them, use them to support your original ideas and meticulously document everything you've done.
