INTRODUCTION - Business analytics is defined as the use of quantitative techniques such as statistics braced by the query and reporting mechanism to assist decision makers in making more informed decisions and predict the future business activities based on the examination of historical patterns of past business activities. The increase in education level has pushed up loads of administration hence opened up areas for the use of technology and analytics .

USE OF ANALYTICS - Therefore there are a lot of opportunities for data gathering and analysis (education attendance, grades, socio-economic data and parental status) Big Data Analytics allows a teacher to measure and respond, in real time to a student’s understanding of the material Analytics help address any unconscious biases we might have towards the commitment of the students

It provides insight into the factors that influence learners’ success 1. attendance 2.frequency of logins 3. frequency of contact with colleague’s Analytics can be used to understand - employment trends and to “organize introductory courses and fundamental learning principles around emerging ideas in the business world.” 

5. Specific areas - Analyze the curriculum and instructor development Getting insights on how to  stay competitive and maximize profits Measure effectiveness(students and teachers) against the results Manage fundraising , advancements and alumni relations Directing satisfaction surveys to understand the students’ sentiments(identifies key areas of focus which further needs investments and action plans) Survey conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council noted a “high overall demand for employees with graduate degrees and a tendency for employers to put new hires into analytics roles.”

With the help of big data- customized programs can be created for each student where with the help of online and offline learning the students get the the opportunity to follow classes that they are interested in while still having offline guidance by professors for example -MOOCs This would lead to improved student results as dropout rates at schools and colleges would reduce Educational institutions can use this data to give insights on future student outcomes Big data can also be used to monitor how students are performing in the job market after graduating from college hence help the future students in choosing the right educational path
