-The Spleen is the largest lymphoid organ.
-Located in the left hypochondriac region, Underthe copula of Diaphragm, and Behindthe Stomach,
and abovethe left Kidney and tail of Pancreas .
-Hematopoietic organ before the birth (Fetus life period), after birth turn to lymphatic organ
-Sizes : 12 cm in length, and 6 cm in width, 3 cm in thickness. And finely 160 grams.
-Intraperitoneal organ.

•Surfaces :
1-Diaphragmatic surface.
2-Visceral surface.
•Ligament :
1-Gastrosplenicligament :
ligament between the Spleen and the Stomach allow the movement (contraction and relaxation) of Spleen.
2-Splenorenoor Lienorenal ligament :
ligament between the Spleen and the left Kidney allow the movement (contraction and relaxation) of Spleen.

Destruction of old RBCs & storage of the blood.

1-Anterior : Stomach.
2-Posterior : Diaphragm & Left lung & Ribs 9-11
3-Inferior : Left colic flexure (splenic flexure).
4-Medial : Left kidney & Tail of the pancreas.
