Explore & experience the magical places nearby our eco-lodge This great mountain is also known as “Mountain of the Dead” in which graves were dug dating back to the Greco-Roman period. The limestone hill is home to over 700 Roman and four 26th Dynasty tombs carved into the rock face. The Temple has attracted many visitors over the history of ancient civilizations, the most prominent being Alexander the Great The magnificent relic at the center of Siwa's main town. According to ancient Siwan scriptures, 40 Siwans built the fortress in 1203 A.D. to protect the community against raiding Bedouin tribes. Now it is a remarkable landmark and protected historic site in the center of Shali town. Shali Fortress Tombs of Jabal al Mawta The Temple of the Oracle of Amun

Explore & experience the magical places nearby our eco-lodge The spring is one of many in the area and is located on the path that leads to the Temple of Amun. It is a stone pool fed by natural spring water, and probably the best known bath in the area. Another favorite bathing spot for locals and tourists in Siwa . Also known as "Fantasy Island," the spot is located 6 km from Siwa Town on the salt lake of Birket Siwa in a beautiful surrounding of palm trees and beautiful scenery. One kilometer south of Aghurmi there are the remains of the Temple of Um Ubeydah , which dates from the reign of King Nectanebo II (30th Dynasty) and was connected by a processional avenue to the Temple of the Oracle, which lies about 400m away. Explore & experience the magical places nearby our eco-lodge A very special excursion with 4x4 vehicles into the outer dunes of the Great Sand Sea, to Bir Wahed, 12km southwest of town. It's a magical feeling, a hot pool the size of a large Jacuzzi, into which sulphurous water gushes and the run-off irrigates a garden around the pool. This Mountain is most famous for the traditional Siwan therapeutic treatments given to calm the ailments of Rheumatism and Arthritis. The Sand Bath treatments consist of burial in the desert sand, up to the neck, whereby a small tent shades the face from the hot sun. Afterwards, a slow cooling process is given with herbal tea. Jabal Dakrour Bir Wahed

Location Adrere Amellal is located 16km outside the oasis town of Siwa , which is on the edge of the Great Sand Sea in Egypt. It’s 800km from Cairo (7-10 hours west depending on how fast your driver goes) or 300km south of Mersa Matruh on the Mediterranean coast. You can catch a bus from Giza, Almaza or Torgoman bus stations in Cairo, with an easy change in Mersa Matruh . Torgoman is near the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It’s also easy to take a bus here from Alexandria and Bahariyya . Mersa Matruh  is the closest airport, but only has occasional charter flights, so most people fly into  Cairo International  and then travel overland (rather dauntingly 800km away!) Siwa , an oasis in  Egypt  that includes a town of 20,000 people, a few historically significant sites, and a handful of small hotels. It lies about 350 miles west of Cairo as the crow flies, and 30 miles east of the Libyan border. Siwa Oasis, Egypt Libya Egypt

Sustainability ASPECT Constructed using all local materials  Committed to using authentic ingredients – all fruits and vegetables come from its own gardens, with no pesticides, while meat and poultry is all from local farmers  Authentic experiences amigo preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Egypt for future generations. The lodge is completely sustainable with no electricity, no plastic and water supplied from a natural spring. The buildings themselves are made from mud bricks and the bed frames from rock salt — basic but incredibly comfortable. The roofs of the rooms are actually supported by palm trees, while the doors and windows were built from the wood harvested from yearly grown olive trees 100% Pure Beeswax Candles, Hand Crafted. Beeswax Candles burn longer, brighter, cleaner and smoke and drip less than other candles. They purify the air as they burn by releasing negative ions which trap pollutants, dust and debris. Beeswax candles have a sweet pleasant honey aroma put into the wax by the bees that made it. Clean and pure, just as nature intended!
