Introduction 2 A case report of annular syphilis , an uncommon form of secondary syphilis. Provides knowledge for making correct and differential diagnoses. Emphasizes the need for more attention to uncommon clinical presentations of syphilis.

CASE REPORT 3 21-year-old Chinese male 30-day history of annular erythematous scaly itching lesions on the penis Begun as papules on the penis Progressively expanded into annular erythematous scaly lesions.

CASE REPORT 4 Physical examination: normal Fungal examination: negative Family history with similar symptoms: none Annular erythematous scaly lesions visible on the penis

DISCUSSION 8 29.6% are atypical annular , pustular, nodular, nodular-ulcerative, berry-like, corymbiform, photosensitive SLE-like, lues maligna , leukoderma, and chancriform Itching

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS 9 REASON FOR EXCLUSION IN THIS PATIENT

10 Therefore, serologic testing remains essential in establishing the diagnosis of syphilis. DISCUSSION

Annular secondary syphilis generally has a good response to penicillin treatment . In the present case, the skin lesions subsided completely within one month, and no recurrence after one year of follow-up 11
