Anthropogenic impact on the atmosphere AG 826
Introduction Anthropogeni c means “having its origin in the influence of human activity on Nature ” The earth atmosphere consists largely of N 2 and O 2 Human activities cannot significantly affect their atmospheric concentrations. But, the trace amounts gases and aerosol particles that have increased . 2
Anthropogenic impact on the atmosphere system The composition of the earth’s atmosphere is different The composition evolved to its present composition as a result of life. The photosynthesis produce the oxygen molecules. Ozone layer protect the earth from the harmful radiation. 3
Anthropogenic impacts………. After the 18 centurey land use energy use and food requirement increase. Human population is increased dramatically. Within a few generation fossil fuels that were generated As a result the release of SO 2 globally about 160 Tg/year.(cola and oil burring). At least two times higher than the sum of natural emission. 4

30%- 50 of land surface has been transformed by human activities. Farmers use more nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture. The escape into the atmosphere of co and NO x from fossil flue and biomass combustion. Several green house gases have substantially increased. CO 2 by more than 30% CH 4 by even more than 100% 6
Scientists classify the separate types of air pollution, called pollutants Pollutant is gases or particles Pollutants include carbon monoxide, methane , ozone, sulfur oxides and Nitrogen oxides That particles are tiny or droplet particle This particles can mix with air and smoke. 7
Result of the anthropogenic impact………… The formation of the photochemical ozone (smog) Degrade air quality in large regions of the earth Green house effect Acid rain Ozone depletion 8
The green house effect The burning of fossil fuels and forests increases CO 2 in the atmosphere. Increases in CO 2 cause more heat to be trapped in the earth's atmosphere. As a result, global temperatures are rising. Warmer temperatures raise sea levels. 9
Ozone hole These images of the ozone hole were taken by NASA between September 1981 and September 1999. http://veimages.gsfc.nasa.gov/138/ozone_hole.jpg 10
Acid rain The burning of fossil fuels , pollutants that contain sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. When these substances react with water vapor, they produce sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Acid rain kill plants and animals in lakes and rivers and on land. 11
Controlling the anthropogenic impacts produce hybrid vehicles reduce the tax fees Reduce the harm full chemical chemical Advice to the people about anthropogenic impact….. Government want introduce new legal condition to people 12
Summary Human can affect to the atmosphere , but not significantly . CO 2 and CH 4 is significantly increase Result of these activities human are suffering this cause Garble warming, acid rain, smog and air pollution are the main affects People can control their anthropogenic impact on atmosphere. 13
