ADH . 12/05/2020 6 ADH  is also called arginine   vasopressin . It's a  hormone  made by the hypothalamus in the brain and stored in the posterior pituitary gland. It tells your kidneys how much water to conserve.  ADH  constantly regulates and balances the amount of water in your blood

CONTRAINDICATION 12/05/2020 12 Hypersensitivity, impaired renal function, with ongoing diuretic treatment, Caution in CV disease, edema, hypertension, cystic fibrosis, fluid and electrolyte imbalance, pregnancy and lactation.

ADVERSE EFFECT 12/05/2020 13 Nasal irritation, Rhinitis, Abdominal cramps, Urge defecate, fluid retention, congestion, Ulceration, nausea, pallor, Backache in females (due to uterine contraction)

NURSING RESPONSIBILITIES 12/05/2020 14 Monitor electrolyte imbalance. Monitor vital signs and B.P. regularly. Observe for sign of hypersensitivity reactions. Monitor laboratory values. Stop medication if hypertension exists.
