Workshop for Module AP:GEN Resource A Worldskills Access programme

Welcome and introduction AP_GEN_A_presentation 2 This may be the first time you have come across the WorldSkills Access Programme. The Access Programme is designed to prepare you to recognize and fulfil the very high expectations associated with the role of the WorldSkills Expert to give WorldSkills reassurance that you are ready to start on your WorldSkills journey.

What is the access programme? AP_GEN_A_presentation 3 The Access Programme has modules of learning and achievement , which means that each module has: specific learning outcomes specific assessment criteria which meet the requirements of each learning outcome There are five modules: AP:GEN: a general, or introductory, module AP:VA1: an introduction to vocational assessment for WorldSkills AP:VA2: a focus on assessment design and preparation AP:VA3: a focus on assessment quality AP:GVS: focused on global vocational standards

This workshop AP_GEN_A_presentation 4 Each module has a notional learning and achievement time of 20 hours. This Workshop takes us through the learning and achievement associated with Module AP:GEN. By the end of this Workshop you will have worked on the learning outcomes and made at least a start on the assessment criteria be able to keep working on the assessment criteria so that, by 6 months before the next WSC at the latest: you can complete the assessment criteria, and WorldSkills International will know that you are ready to be acknowledged as a new Expert

Looking at module AP:gen in detail AP_GEN_A_presentation 5 Learning Outcomes Understand the nature and role of the WorldSkills Vision, Mission, and Position within global VET Understand the structure and organization of Worldskills, and the position of the Expert within these Assessment Criteria A table listing the WorldSkills themes, with an example of a national/regional issue or opportunity, and a global issue or opportunity, where WorldSkills is relevant, for each of the six focus areas within the WorldSkills global hub. A) a summary of the WorldSkills governance and management structure, with the terms of reference and composition of each Committee B) either a summary of Vision 2025 or a note of the main topics currently being addressed by each Standing Committee

B) A completed quiz on Issue and Dispute Resolution. A guidance note for another Expert on how to maintain the integrity and wellbeing of oneself and other Experts from C-5 to C+1 of the WSC A guidance note for another Expert on how to balance responsibilities to all Competitors one’s own Competitor one’s Member country or region, and WorldSkills.

To understand the Code fully you will need to be familiar with the Competition Rules including Issue and Dispute Resolution. This is a brief introduction to the Policy, Procedure, and Rules. You may want to turn to your copy of the Rules, section B.12 .

Issue and dispute resolution: summary AP_GEN_A_presentation 18 Definitions Issue : topics or problems for discussion or debate that relate to managing and running a skill competition. All issues should be resolved within the skill competition by the Skill Management Team, the Jury President/Competitions Committee Delegate, and/or the Expert’s Technical Delegate. Dispute : disagreements or arguments that occur due to the escalation of an unresolved issue beyond the Skill Management Team, the Jury President/Competitions Committee Delegate, and/or the Expert’s Technical Delegate.
