APPLICATION OF TRIGONOMETRIC RATIO INVOLVING RIGHT TRIANGLES ANGLES OF ELEVATION AND DEPRESSION
LOOK AT THESE PICTURES What do you see in the pictures? What are the differences between these pictures to each other?
LOOK – UP OR LOOK DOWN? You’re on the 2 nd floor of SHS building and you’re looking at your crush to the ground. 2. You are looking at the flying kite . 3. You’re sweeping the floor. 4. You’re kneading a bread . 5. You are playing a basketball and you’re shooting the ball in a ring.
Draw the figures represented in situation 1 and 2 and find what is asked. Use bond paper for your illustrations. Situation 1: Jessie wants to fly a kite using a 100 m string. When Jessie is lying on the ground holding the string while the kite is in the air with an angle of elevation of 47 degrees, she wonders how high the kite from the ground is. (Group 1, 2 and 3) Situation 2: Eissej as one of the warriors of “Tribung Uk-ok” is standing on the top of the mountain of Longa 50 ft with the ground is looking at his son Yatib at 30 ft away from the mountain where he is standing. What will be the angle of depression? (Group 4, 5 and 6)
