Introduction Arabic (العربية) is one of the world’s oldest languages, spoken by over 400 million people across the Middle East and North Africa. There are many regional dialects of Arabic, such as Egyptian, Levantine, and Gulf Arabic, with Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) being the formal language used in media, literature, and official documents. Arabic has significantly influenced other languages, contributing words like "algebra," "coffee," and "sugar" to English and other languages.

What We Will Learn Today In today’s 10 minutes, you’ll learn basic Arabic greetings and self-introduction phrases, as well as colors and numbers. Do you know any Arabic words?

GREETINGS

The word "Marhaba" comes from the Arabic root " ر – ح – ب “ (r-h-b), which is related to welcoming and spaciousness. So, it can also carry the meaning of wishing someone a warm and welcoming space. مرحبا Marhaba ( مرحبًا ) Hello in Arabic.

السلام عليكم As- salamu alaykum السلام عليكم) ) Meaning: Peace be upon you Often followed by the response Wa alaykum as- salam ( وعليكم السلام ), meaning "And peace be upon you."

صباح الخير Sabah al- khayr صباح الخير) ) Meaning: Good morning Often responded to with Sabah an- nur ( صباح النور ), meaning "Morning of light."
