What is an art movement ?
An art movement is a tendency or style in art with a specific common philosophy or goal, followed by a group of artists during a restricted period of time, or, at least, with the heyday of the movement defined within usually a number of years. - Wikipedia
What do we need to ask ourselves? Form – What visual information do the works have in common? Theme – What are the big ideas driving these artists? Context – What is happening at the time in which the art is made?
