01. Introduction
The replication of human intelligence functions by machines, particularly computer systems, is known as artificial intelligence. AI is widely employed in a wide range of industries, including gambling, finance, commercial, etc. It is also gradually making its way into manufacturing, helping industrial automation.
Manufacturers are increasingly turning to artificial intelligence (AI) solutions like machine learning (ML) and deep learning neural networks to better analyse data and make decisions. AI for manufacturing is expected to grow from $1.1 billion in 2020 to $16.7 billion by 2026 – an astonishing CAGR of 57 percent. Growth
Role of AI in industrial sector 02.
Role Digital twins help boost performance. Predictive maintenance improves safety, lowers cost. Lights-out factories save money. Machine learning algorithms predict demand. Ai boost supply chain management. Ai system detect errors. Ai system help speed product development.
Importance of using Ai in manufacturing industry 03.
Importance of using Ai in manufacturing Enhanced efficiency and productivity AI-powered machines can work faster, more accurately, and continuously without the need for breaks, resulting in higher output and reduced production time. Improved quality control AI systems can perform real-time monitoring and analysis of production processes, ensuring consistent quality control. This minimizes defects, reduces waste, and improves overall product quality.
Importance of using Ai in manufacturing Customisation and personalization AI allows for mass customization and personalized manufacturing. Manufacturers can tailor products to individual customer preferences without compromising production efficiency. Energy efficiency and sustainability AI can optimize energy usage and resource allocation in manufacturing processes, leading to reduced energy consumption and lower environmental impact.
Importance of using Ai in manufacturing Workforce augmentation AI can handle repetitive and dangerous tasks, enabling human workers to focus on more creative and higher-value tasks, fostering a safer and more engaging workplace.
Advantages 04.
Advantages Reduction in human error The decisions are taken from the previously gathered information applying a certain set of algorithms. So, errors are reduced. Helping in repetitive jobs AI can help us automate repetitive tasks like sending thank-you emails or checking documents for errors. This way, we can save time and free ourselves to focus on other jobs. Digital assistance Advanced organizations use digital assistants to interact with users, reducing the need for human resources.
Advantages Faster decision Using AI alongside other technologies we can make machines take decisions faster than a human and carry out actions quicker. Available 24×7 An Average human will work for 4–6 hours a day excluding the breaks. But using AI we can make machines work 24x7 without any breaks and they don’t even get bored, unlike humans.
Disadvantages 05.
Disadvantages High cost of creation AI is updating every day the hardware and software need to get updated with time to meet the latest requirements. Need to pay huge amount for maintenance. U NEMPLOYNMENT Every organization is looking to replace the minimum qualified individuals with AI robots which can do similar work with more efficiency.
Disadvantages Lacking out of box thinking Machines can perform only those tasks which they are designed or programmed to do, anything out of that they tend to crash. No improvement with experience AI cannot naturally learn from its own experiences and mistakes like humans do. Developing a self-learning AI is challenging and costly.
Conclusion 06.
AI is becoming increasingly important in the manufacturing industry.
The use of AI in Industry 4.0 offers both actual manufacturing facility possibilities and challenges
Additionally, there is a potential for job displacement due to the increased automation of manufacturing processes.
It is important for manufacturing industries to carefully consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI adoption.
As the manufacturing industry continues to evolve and adapt to new technologies. AI is likely to play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of manufacturing.
