Idea One Male detective Flashback with diegetic narration giving an insight on the protagonist – the flashback being the night of ‘the smile’ The flashback would take up the entire opening sequence, then return to present day after the opening sequence has finished OCD – make sure props are perfectly straight and neat (professional but also creates a sense of vulnerability) – make this slight actions throughout the opening The reflection being himself as he struggles with his mental state Leans more into the psycho-thriller and horror side

Idea Two Female detective – gender vulnerability Action sequence – make the encounter more tense using quicker cuts and tense music Dialogue - phone call with a worried woman (keeping the women trend) Make the reflection a man from her past back for revenge – once again hinting at the more eerie, dangerous side of the male gender Leaning towards the more horror aspect - message being, men can be animals

4. Idea Three Gender unknown – creates an enigma (hints further at the mystery genre) Ominous music – adding to the mystery aspect Protagonist is a wolf in a sheep costume, but he wears a human suit to fit in with society This is more leaning into the mystery and psycho-thriller side Horror aspect – not knowing…

5. The Final Idea An establishing shot of the high rise building our detective is based in. Cut to a master-shot of the detective’s working space with him at the desk, the lighting not allowing us to see his face, hiding his identify. Intensity building up until a phone ring breaks the silence. A feint voice on the other side can be heard. Back to the master shot, ominous music builds up, a figure can now be seen through the window. Everything goes black, except the eerie smile of the presence outside. When the lights/candles relight, our detective is gone, but the window is open.
