4. Likert scale Likert scale is a composite measure of attitudes that involve summation of scores on set of items (statements) to which respondents are asked to indicate their degree of agreement or disagreement.

9. Semantic differential scale Semantic differential scale is a type of rating scale designed to measure the connotative meaning of objects, events and concepts. The connotations are used to derive the attitude of the objects, events and concepts.

10. Advantages of semantic differential scale A convenient method to assess beliefs, attitudes and values in quantitative form. Easy to administer. Provides reasonable, valid and reliable quantitative data.

11. Disadvantages of semantic differential scale Difficult to select the relevant concepts that are appropriate for any given investigation. Time consuming, if anyone is not able to find the appropriate adjective pairs.
