23. Summary: Psychologists use personality tests to access personality characteristics of an individual. Though the actual measurement of personality is not possible, we can have the estimate of assessment of personality with the help of certain specific techniques and methods, as said by Mangal (2005). To assess the personality projective techniques and non-projective techniques are widely used. It is nothing but what we have discussed in the above slides. Projective test: Rorschach Ink-Blot Test, Thematic Apperception Test, Children’s Apperception Test, Picture S ituation Index, Sentence Completion Test, word Association Test, Story telling or Story Completion Test. Non-Projective test: Subjective methods-Observation, Case study, Interview, Anecdotal Record, Cumulative Record. Objective methods-Questionnaire, Inventory, Rating Scale.
