A Tale of Two City-States: Athens and Sparta
Mr. Roberts Mr. Roberts believes that students should make the class rules. Mr. Roberts believes that students should also decide the types of punishments to be given for breaking the rules. Mr. Roberts wants everyone to feel happy so he generally gives all of his students high grades. He believes that students should monitor their own behavior and so lets the students choose where they want to sit.
Mr. Smith Mr. Smith sets the rules for the class. Mr. Smith has a series of strict punishments for anyone that breaks the class rules. Any student that breaks the class rules must perform a tough physical exercise. Mr. Smith’s assignments are usually long tests or quizzes. Students are expected to sit quietly when they do their work. Mr. Smith has a seating plan, and all students must sit in their designated seat.
