In Design 281 Drawing & Sketching, I was tasked with designing a uniform for both male and female
figures using a Pigma Micron08 pen and alcoholic markers. As someone who had played softball for 9
years, I decided to design sports uniforms for both softball and baseball.

4. Process Pictures
I began with some printed templates of the male and female body. I then began sketching my design for
the uniforms using pencil overtop of the template. I made sure to use the anatomy lines as a guide to
get my proportions correct before shading in where I wanted the contrast (color) in the uniform to be. I
messed around with a couple of designs, using images found on google. I took inspiration from traditional
softball and baseball uniforms while incorporating my own modern style into the design. For the softball
uniform, I liked the idea of incorporating geometric shapes for a more modern take. For baseball, I really
liked the old school font for the number on the back of the uniform. Finally, I added color. I had already
decided on using blue as the main color with dark grey and black as accent colors.

In Design 281, I was also tasked with sketching still life drawings. The goal was to be able to replicate form and
light to accurately represent an object. This project was great for practicing my hand-eye
coordination while honing in my observational skills. I created my own scene in a shadow box using organics,
(as shown in the pictures on the far left) while then trying to replicate it using different mediums such as pen
and pencil (shown in my drawings to the right of the pictures).
