2. The Word AutoCAD is made up of the two words “ AUTO ( logo of company) and CAD ( Computer Aided Design ) AutoCAD is 2D and 3D Modeling Software . It is developed by Autodesk company which is U.S.A.based . It is widely used in Industry for 2D drawing and 3D modeling . AutoCAD is designing course which is performed by the help of computer . 3. AutoCAD Software was firstly launched by Autodesk company in Dec.1982 It comes in India in 1988 . The first version of AutoCAD was R1 after that R2, R3 , R4….. And so on. In 2000, Autodesk launched version of AutoCAD 2000 after that 2001 ,2002….. So on. Latest versions is easy to use and over come the difficulties of old version . Version of AutoCAD

4. Workspace Name – Drafting and Annotations . Before starting any drawing set units as per your requirement . Units setting are shown in further slide. If Ribbon Disappears – Use command “ Ribbon”. If You want to close the ribbon – Use Command “Ribbon close”. The cursor we used to draw the diagram called as Cross hair . And square in the middle called as pick box . We can reduce the size of cross hair and pick box by using command “option” – SC key is “OP”. If command line disappears press “Ctrl + 9”. Screen is shown in the next slide . 6. To set the drawing units go to the drop down window at the top left side of the AutoCAD 2014 Screen . And from this menu select units Otherwise there is a short cut key for units i.e. press “UN” and press “Enter”. A pop up window will appear that will set our drawing units as shown in the next slide How to Set Drawing Units

9. Before starting isometric drawing we have to change the drafting settings . For that use command “DS” enter . Then - Snap and Grid - Click on the Isometric snap from rectangular snap. Window is shown in next slide . Always keep the Ortho on at the time of Isometric Drawing . To change the planes in isometric like Isoplane top/ Isoplane Right/ I soplane Left - Use “F5” For Isometric Drawings

12. Isometric is 2D drawing because object is drawn with the help of two axis i.e. 2 dimensional . In these We are not able to use offset command ; hence in such situations use Copy command i.e. “ Sc key - Co”. To draw a Circle use mention Path “ Elipse - Axis end - Isocircle”. Always keep Ortho on before starting isometric drawing . Important things about Isometric
