TOPIC INTRODUCTION TO CHEMISTRY

FATHER OF CHEMISTRY ANTOINE LAVOISIER  (1743–1794): Father of chemistry.

WHAT IS CHEMISTRY ? The definition of  chemistry  is a branch of science that deals with the form and properties of matter and substances or the interaction between individuals. An example of  chemistry  is the study of protons and neutrons. An example of  chemistry  is the feeling of affection and attraction between a couple.

BRANCHES OF CHEMISTRY

CHEMISTRY IN DAILY LIFE Chemistry is a big part of our everyday life. One can easily observe this branch of science in different spheres of human life such as in the food we eat, the air we breathe, the various cleansing agents we use, so much so that even human emotions are sometimes a result of  chemical reactions  within our body!

ROLE OF CHEMISTRY IN SOCIETY Chemistry  plays a huge and important  role  in  society , with relation to shelter and clothing. For example,  chemists  come up with new paints and epoxy sprays that protect shelters from the wear and tear inflicted by rain, wind, sun and pollution.

FUTURE OF CHEMISTRY The  chemical  sciences will likely be increasingly required to solve challenges in health, energy and climate change, water and food production.  chemistry  might have a greater role in biochemistry and the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in the maintenance and development of infrastructure.

CAREER IN CHEMISTRY Analytical Chemist Chemical Engineer Chemistry Teacher Forensic Scientist Geochemist Hazardous Waste Chemist Materials Scientist Pharmacologist Toxicologist Water Chemist
