MULTI-DISCIPLINARY COURSE WOMEN AND SOCIETY (SOC1FM105-1) It introduce basic concepts and theoretical perspectives related to the study of women and gender. It discusses the ways in which gender affects everyday life in Kerala through a Sociological perspective. Illustrate an understanding of basic concepts related to gender- related issues in Kerala. Differentiate between patrilineal and matrilineal systems and identify the existence of patriarchy within matrilineal systems in Kerala. Appreciate the historical and contemporary need for studying women.
