Padma Bridge is a significant infrastructure project in
Bangladesh, spanning the Padma River and connecting
the country's southwestern region to the capital, Dhaka.
It's the largest bridge in Bangladesh and a vital
component of the country's transportation network,
aiming to enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel
time by almost half of what it used to be, and boost
economic growth by facilitating smoother transportation
of goods and people across the country, its construction
represents a major engineering achievement and a
symbol of national development for Bangladesh.

DHAKA’S ELEVATED EXPRESS WAY
The Dhaka Elevated Expressway is a significant
infrastructure initiative in Bangladesh's capital,
designed to alleviate severe traffic congestion.
Stretching approximately 20 kilometers, it will
connect vital areas such as Hazrat Shahjalal
International Airport and the central business
district, offering a faster and more efficient
route through the city. This project aims to
enhance urban mobility, reduce travel times,
and foster economic growth by improving
transportation infrastructure in Dhaka.

THE KARNAPHULI TUNNEL
The Karnaphuli Tunnel is a major infrastructure
project in Bangladesh, aimed at easing traffic
congestion in Chittagong. It involves the
construction of a tunnel beneath the Karnaphuli
River, spanning about 3.4 kilometers. Once
completed, it will significantly reduce travel time
between the city center and southeastern
regions of Bangladesh. The tunnel is expected
to enhance regional connectivity, promote
economic growth, and improve overall
transportation efficiency in the area.

BANGLADESH AND
IT’S
TRANSPORTAION
PROBLEMS

TRAFFIC JAM IN BANGLADESH
Traffic jams in Bangladesh are a severe and pervasive issue, particularly in
urban centers like Dhaka and Chittagong. They result from a combination of
factors including rapid urbanization, inadequate road infrastructure, a high
density of vehicles, poor traffic management, and unpredictable road
conditions. The consequences of traffic jams in Bangladesh are profound. They
lead to significant economic losses due to wasted time and fuel, contribute to
air pollution, and pose health risks from prolonged exposure to exhaust fumes.
Furthermore, traffic congestion hampers emergency services and affects the
quality of life for residents by increasing stress levels and reducing
productivity.Addressing these challenges requires comprehensive urban
planning, investment in transportation infrastructure, promotion of public
transport systems, and effective traffic management strategies tailored to the
unique conditions of Bangladeshi cities.
