PROBLEM STATEMENT Design a laser-based security system that can detect and alert authorities in real-time when an theif breaches a secure perimeter. The system should: 1 . Use laser beams to create a virtual fence around the perimeter. 2 . Detect any interruptions in the laser beams and trigger an alarm. 3. Operate in various weather conditions (day/night, rain, fog, etc.) This problem statement outlines the key requirements and challenges for designing a laser security system, including detection accuracy, location precision, and integration with existing infrastructure.

ABSTRACT This project deals with a model of laser security system design.Laser security systems used to difficult to be install and rarely available to any one other than the super rich. Now ,there are dozens of different security systems on the market that utilize lasers and can effectively protect every thing from small apartments and businesses to large areas of property. In this project laser light is used to cover a large area. When any person crosses the path, laser diode obstruct laser to reach LDR and the sensor generate a low which is read by controller to power on the buzzer.
COMPONENTS LDR : LDR stands for Light Depended Resistor . It is a type of resistor that changes its resistance in response to changes in light intensity. LDRs are often used in electronic circuits to detect light levels and control various devices such as lamps, relays, and cameras RESISTORS : A resistor is a passive electronic component that reduces the voltage or current in a circuit. It resists the flow of electricity and converts some of the energy into heat . Resistors play a crucial role in electronic circuits, controlling voltage and current levels, and converting energy into heat. . LED : LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a type of semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current passes through it. LEDs are commonly used in various applications, like Indicators ( power on/off , warning lights ),signaling devices(traffic lights, emergency lights).
COMPONENTS: NPN TRANSISTOR: An NPN transistor is a type of bipolar junction transistor (BJT) that consists of three layers of a semiconductor material, typically silicon, with each layer having a different electrical charge. 1 . Off state: No current flows between collector and emitter . 2 . On state: Current flows between collector and emitter when a small base current is applied. . LASER BEAM: A laser beam is a concentrated beam of light that is produced by a laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) device. Laser beams are known for their high intensity, directionality, and ability to travel long distances without diverging significantly.
COMPONENTS: BATTERY: A battery is a device that stores electrical energy in the form of chemical energy. It consists of one or more cells that contain a positive electrode (cathode) and a negative electrode (anode) separated by an electrolyte, which allows ions to flow between the electrodes . CAPACITOR: A capacitor is a passive electrical component that stores energy in an electric field. It consists of two conductive plates separated by a dielectric material, such as air, ceramic, or a polymer film. BUZZER: A buzzer is an electronic device that produces a sound, typically a continuous tone or a series of beeps, when an electric current is passed through it. Buzzers are commonly used as alerting devices in various applications, such as : 1 . Alarms (security systems, fire alarms ) 2 . Timers (kitchen timers, alarm clocks)
WORKING This circuit is based on LDR (Light Depended Resistor),variable resistor in which the resistance varies according to the light intensity falling on it. LDR and Resistor R1 forms a potential driver network which is the main part of our security alarm circuit. The voltage drop across the LDR is used to drive the transistor switch. When the voltage drop is above cut in voltage(0.6v),the transistor is turned on. LDR has low resistance in the presence of light and high resistance in the absence of light. In our security alarm ,a laser light is allowed to fall on the LDR continuously using three mirrors .
WORKING Light from another source should not allowed to fall on the LDR,so place the LDR in a box with a single hole to pass laser. In this situation the resistance offered by LDR is too low.Since the laser light continuously allowed to fall on the LDR surface. Thus the voltage drop across the L DR is also low.Which is insufficient to turn ON the transistor,So the transistor remain OFF state. When a person makes a block to the continuously flow of laser beam,Then the light falling on the LDR gets blocked. This its increases to a high value in the order of M ohm range. While resistance increases voltage drop is also increases when this voltage drop exceeds cut in voltage of silicon NPN transistor (2N7000) it will turn ON. Then current from vice starts flowing to ground via the buzzer and the transistor, which makes the beep sound. The beep sound from the security alarm gives the indication of some security failures.
ADVANTAGES AND APPLICATIONS ADVANTAGES APPLICATIONS 1 . Intrusion detection and alarm triggering 2 . Immunity to environmental interference (e.g., light, noise ) 3 . Pet-friendly and false alarm reduction 1. Asset protection (e.g., valuables, equipment ) 2 . Home security systems 3 Industrial and commercial property security, Border control and surveillance.
CONCLUSION Laser security system provides us the security against any crime theft in our day today life and so people are installing them in order to stay safe and secure.Various electronic security system can be used at home and other important working places for security and safety purposes.Laser security system is an important helping system using this system robbery, theft and crime can be avoided to large extend. There by this system provides us protection against all.
