3. Katse is also one of the world`s ten largest Concrete arch dams in terms of volume . Using 2.32 million cubic metres of concrete, The wall was built over a period of six years

4. Although the katse dam has power generation capacity for local use,the primary Purpose is as the storage reservoir for phase 1A and to provide discharge into the transfer tunnel
