2. Coral Diversity Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the richest of the Indian region in coral diversity with as many as 179 species belonging to 61 genera. The common genera contributing to the reef formation are Acropora, Montipora , Pocillopora , Porites, Goniopora , Favia, Fungia , Millepora , Soft Coral.

3. Interview Island Wildlife Sanctuary t is the largest island sanctuary in the Andaman and Nicobar Island. Surrounded by dense forest area and close to the beach, there is no permanent human inhabitation on the island. It is covered by semi evergreen forest and the remaining area harbours mangroves and littoral forests.

4. Faunal diversity of the Islands Over 5100 animals   have been described which include 100 fresh water , 2100 terrestrial and 2900 marine animals . Marine life comprises more than 1200 spp of fish , 350 spp of echinoderms , 179 spp of corals , 1000 spp of molluscs , and many other lower forms of life .

5. The Great Nicobar Biosphere Reserve It  harbours a wide spectrum of ecosystems comprising tropical wet evergreen forests, mountain ranges reaching a height of 642 m (Mt. Thullier ) above sea level, and coastal plains. The region is noted for its rich biodiversity.

7. Coral Diversity The dominant live corals in the Lakshadweep islands are Porites, Favia, Acropora and Favites Seagrass andAlgae in Lakshadweep–Cymodocea and Thalassia Seagrass beds are highly productive and valuable resources that occur in the shallow water lagoon of the islands.

8. Natural Resources Fish, coconut, coir. They are the country's only coral islands. Lakshadweep officially consists of 12 atolls, 3 reefs and 5 submerged banks, with a total of about 36 islands and islets.

9. Marine Life With 36 coral islands, Lakshadweep's marine life is the most unique and distinctive island treasure found in India. The lagoons located at the Kadmat and Bangaram islands are home to a spectacular and unexplored world of marine life.
